Inner Outer
a zine by Friends & Neighbors
We’re starting Inner Outer, a Risograph zine, that celebrates San Francisco. Issue 1 will be all about parks.
We’ve got 220 beautiful, scenic and lush parks around the City, and even more ways to enjoy it – casting pools, pianos, rollerskating. (What can’t you do in the park?!)
Submit something about:
Your favorite activity in the park (swing dancing, ping pong, running, biking)
On-the-street interviews
Maps featuring hidden or lesser-known spots
Park history
A scavenger hunt or bingo card
Craziest story
Magical moments
Supernatural encounters
Wildlife sightings
Plan a happening
We’ll be organizing a series of happenings at the park, which we’ll document and include in the zine.
Happenings include:
April 27 - Cloud Watchers Society - lay down, look up and sketch what you see
May 31 - Let’s Fly a Big Kite - Make and fly a Big kite
Date TBD - Friends & Neighbors Potluck in the Park - a potluck to celebrate the zine release
Reach out to us if you have an idea for a happening you’d like to host. We are interested in free events that promote conversation and art-making.

We’re looking for volunteer copy editors, illustrators and designers.

Phone policy
For most events, Friends & Neighbors asks that people refrain from taking photos and videos. However, the happenings will involve photography for purposes of making the zine and we will make that clear in the event descriptions. We will continue to ask people to refrain from posting on social media and take photos for purposes of the zine only.
